It is the first salt chlorine generator with a built-in chlorine detector, replacing the traditional timed cycle method to produce chlorine. The SmarterSpa DO has to be plugged into a GFCI 110V outlet 10 feet from the hot tub. It is recommended to have the hot tub cover off the spa for 15-20 minutes every few days to allow the chemical vapours to vent off if the hot tub is not used regularly.
