The SmarterSpa In Line ( IL ) is the in-line version of the SmarterSpa. Designed for hot tubs up to 1,000 gallons with built in chlorine detection, requiing just 1.5 lbs of salt per 1,000 gallons. The in-line version includes all the components needed to install the SmarterSpa with the hot tubs existing plumbing. With this in-line verfsion, the spa should have a continously running circulation pump. If the pump turns off, then the SmarterSpa in-line should also turn off to stop chlorine production if there is no water flow: WARNING: It is dangerous to produce chlorine in the pipes withour proper water flow.

The SmarterSpa  IL is designed so that it can plumbed into most existing hot tubs. SmarterSpa IL can run on any type of hot tub heating system but it is recommended to have or eventually replace the heater element with a titanium heater element.
